New Moon: August 1 Full Moon: August 16
"Kali, is that black abyss of mystery out of which all things come and back into which they go. Her principle image is found dancing in the burning place where corpses are burned. This is dissolution. She is dancing on the body of her god, Shiva, her husband. Your god is the final obstacle to get past.
Anything you do has a still point. When you are in that still point, You can perform maximally.
One has to go beyond The pairs of opposites To find the real sources."
~from Reflection on the Art of Living, by Joseph Campbell

| NEW! Crop Circle of the Month!
|
Crop Circle is a term used to describe patterns created by the flattening of crops into into complex geometric shapes. There are many explanations for these formations, including man-made hoax theories, geological anomalies and a plethora of paranormal explanations. Regardless of who or what is creating these amazing patterns in fields through out the world, we find these sacred geometric patterns to be inspirational and fascinating. If you are interested in learning more, we recommend the DVD Crop Circles: Quest for the Truth and the book Secrets in the Fields by Freddy Silva.

Deity Spotlight: Kali
|
Kali, The Goddess of Time Kali is the bright fire of truth, which cannot be hidden by superficiality or clothes of ignorance. She is true Nature (Prakriti), completely beyond name, form and the illusory effects of maya (false consciousness). Her garland of fifty human heads, (representing the fifty letters of the Sanskrit alphabet) symbolizes the repository of knowledge and wisdom. She wears a girdle of severed human hands which signify the action of karma. Kali's four arms represent the complete cosmic circle of creation and destruction. Her right hands make the mudras of "fear not", while the left hand, hold a bloodied sword and a severed head symbolize the removal of ignorance and the dawning of knowledge. Her three eyes represent the sun, moon, and fire, and the ability to observe past, present and future.
In spite of her seemingly terrible form, Kali is often considered the kindest and most loving of all the Hindu goddesses, as she is regard as the Mother of the whole Universe. Because of her outer form, she is also often seen as a great protector. She is indivisible Reality, Awareness, and Bliss and is associated with the light force of the heart, that endures through both life and death.
